Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Building and operating backend systems, the full-time salaried Senior Software Engineer will focus on distributed systems, data modeling, and system design to deliver reliable services at scale while leveraging AI tools to enhance capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Design teams to deliver features from ideation through deployment, iterating based on feedback
• Design and ship backend services and APIs, owning system design and architecture decisions across service boundaries
• Promote engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, and monitoring, while mentoring teammates in best practices

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and operating backend systems for high-traffic, high-reliability products
• Strong system design skills across distributed systems, including latency, throughput, and durability
• Deep understanding of data modeling and persistence, including tradeoffs in normalization and consistency
• Experience designing service-oriented architectures, including microservices and service-to-service communication patterns
• Proficiency in an object-oriented language (e.g., Java/Kotlin/C#) and solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
