Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the modernization of a critical Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), the full-time Senior Software Engineer will utilize spec-driven and test-driven development practices to reverse-engineer legacy code, document system architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Build specifications and architecture documentation in Markdown and Mermaid.js to guide development
• Implement automated test coverage and maintain coverage standards for the codebase
• Reverse-engineer the legacy system, producing detailed documentation and data-flow diagrams

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong cloud-native engineering fundamentals, preferably in Azure
• Experience with Spec-Driven and Test-Driven Development methodologies
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot
• Ability to produce documentation and diagrams as code, versioned in Git
