Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance web accessibility, the remote Senior Software Engineer will improve the core Gecko accessibility engine using C++ and systems programming, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to address and remediate accessibility issues.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the architecture, stability, correctness, and performance of the core Gecko accessibility engine
• Debug and fix problems in a multi-process, multi-threaded codebase, including OS-specific issues
• Collaborate with design and front-end teams to identify and remediate accessibility issues

Required qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
• Demonstrated proficiency with C++ and experience with multi-process, multi-threaded code
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and ARIA
• Experience with cross-platform native applications and web technologies
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to learn complex codebases
