Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance web accessibility, the remote Senior Software Engineer will improve the core Gecko accessibility engine using C++ and systems programming, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address accessibility issues and influence web standards.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the architecture, stability, correctness, and performance of the core Gecko accessibility engine
• Debug and fix issues in a multi-process, multi-threaded codebase across various operating systems
• Collaborate with design and front-end teams to identify and remediate accessibility challenges

Required qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
• Demonstrated proficiency with C++ and experience in cross-platform native applications
• Knowledge of web accessibility, ARIA, and web technologies including JavaScript
• Experience writing and debugging multi-process, multi-threaded code
• A passion for improving web accessibility for individuals with diverse abilities
