Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a key technical leader and hands-on engineer, the full-time Senior Software Engineer on the Banking Integration Platform Team will build seamless connections between Mercury and external financial systems, focusing on integration with an FFIEC-approved bank core and payment networks, while designing internal APIs and managing complex enterprise integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Build integration with an FFIEC-approved bank core and connections to payment networks
• Design internal APIs for product teams to interface with complex external systems
• Manage enterprise integration challenges, including retries, failures, and data synchronization

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend infrastructure and distributed systems
• Experience integrating modern distributed systems with legacy infrastructure in regulated environments
• Understanding of banking systems, including accounts, transactions, and ledgers
• Product-minded approach with a focus on developer experience when designing APIs
• Familiarity with Haskell or willingness to learn the technology stack
