Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the Elasticsearch Storage Engine team, the fully remote Senior Software Engineer will design, implement, and optimize core storage and query technologies while collaborating with a globally distributed team to improve performance and efficiency in observability workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural evolution and resolve performance bottlenecks in storage engine components
• Drive cross-organizational initiatives to develop industry-leading observability solutions
• Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring engineers and collaborating on issue resolution and code reviews

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in building high-performance, scalable database or distributed systems
• Strong core Java skills with a deep understanding of concurrency and data structures
• Experience with data storage technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or PostgreSQL
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI for development and optimization
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively in a distributed team environment
