Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Building Alpaca's algo trading platform, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design and architect high-performance systems while writing extensive code and making critical decisions to enhance user experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and develop the algo trading platform to meet high-quality performance standards
• Optimize low latency and high throughput systems for robust concurrency and high availability
• Implement and maintain Order Management and Risk Management systems

Required qualifications:

• Proven software engineering experience with trading or exchange systems
• Proficiency in low and high-level programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Java, and Python
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, distributed systems, and concurrency control
• Experience with messaging queues and message brokers
• Solid system design skills, including object-oriented data modeling and service-oriented architectures
