Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Software Engineer will maintain and enhance the BasicSafe application, design and implement new features, and contribute to modernizing the codebase while collaborating with product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the BasicSafe application while writing clean, maintainable code
• Design, build, and ship new features across the stack, including developing and consuming REST APIs
• Collaborate with product managers and fellow engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions and participate in code reviews

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on PHP expertise
• Experience maintaining and enhancing large PHP web applications, including legacy systems
• Strong MySQL skills, including query optimization and database design
• Proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks (Vue.js preferred; Quasar a plus)
• Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows
