Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the efficiency of the claims process, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will lead infrastructure upgrades and modernization efforts for Ruby on Rails applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure upgrades and modernization, including migrating applications to supported versions
• Identify and resolve technical debt to improve system stability and performance
• Collaborate with engineers, product management, and design to solve complex problems and contribute to technical design processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of full-stack web development experience
• Experience with relational databases and writing performant SQL queries
• Prior experience using Ruby on Rails and AWS infrastructure
• Understanding of scalability challenges and performance of server-side code
