Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Building Alpaca's algo trading platform, the full-time remote Senior Software Engineer will design and architect high-performance brokerage services, delivering exceptional user experiences through extensive coding and critical decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable and high-availability systems for trading and exchange operations
• Optimize low latency and high throughput performance across the platform
• Develop and maintain Order Management and Risk Management systems

Required qualifications:

• Strong experience in software engineering with a focus on trading or exchange systems
• Proficiency in low and high-level programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Java, and Python
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, scalability, and concurrency control
• Experience with messaging queues and message brokers
• System design expertise, particularly in object-oriented data modeling and service-oriented architectures
