Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer with expertise in AWS and Node.js to validate architecture and ensure reliable data delivery for a high-performance motorsport client, working remotely within U.S. time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Validate AWS Kinesis architecture and identify gaps before scaling to major automotive partners
• Build and maintain Node.js services for processing streaming data over WebSockets and Kinesis
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure the streaming layer delivers clean and ordered data to downstream consumers

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a software or backend engineer with a focus on distributed systems and real-time streaming
• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js, including experience with TypeScript and error handling
• Hands-on experience with AWS Kinesis stream design and management
• Strong system design fundamentals with the ability to identify and remediate reliability blind spots
• Practical experience using AI tools like Claude for architecture review and documentation
