Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To build and scale a centralized authentication and authorization platform, the full-time remote Senior Software Engineer will manage end-to-end development across the stack, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance security capabilities and improve user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build and scale Vannevar's centralized authentication and authorization platform, ensuring tenant isolation across environments
• Own the internal self-service platform for user, group, and permission management while collaborating with design for intuitive administrative experiences
• Shape the long-term roadmap for the Security Platform team, driving scalable capabilities and improving the developer experience

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record in scalable backend systems and full-stack feature delivery
• Proficiency in modern backend languages (e.g., Python, Java) and experience with relational databases and API design
• Ability to own end-to-end development, including frontend work (e.g., React/TypeScript/Node.js) as needed
• Experience with identity and authentication concepts and platforms such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and RBAC/ABAC
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience aligning stakeholders and driving technical direction
