Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Search Relevance team, responsible for leading initiatives to enhance search engine performance, developing new features, and collaborating with a globally distributed team to improve search relevance and functionality.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development of industry-leading search engine features, ensuring speed and relevance
• Contribute to the Elasticsearch codebase by building new features and resolving complex bugs
• Collaborate with team members and community contributors on search relevance improvements and pull requests

Required qualifications:

• Professional experience with search or vector databases and relevant algorithms
• Strong proficiency in core Java and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs
• Ability to work autonomously on projects from design to implementation
• Experience with various data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, or PostgreSQL
• Proven track record of using AI to enhance development and optimize systems
