Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To build and scale Coinbase Custom Stablecoins, the full-time Senior Software Engineer on the Stablecoin team will own smart contracts, develop backend services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features while ensuring security and operational excellence in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve smart contracts for minting, burning, and safeguarding custom stablecoin supply
• Build and scale backend services for onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards distribution
• Drive architectural decisions balancing security, scalability, and speed of delivery across backend and smart contract systems

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on production backend services
• Experience writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts in production environments
• Comfort with end-to-end service ownership and service-oriented architecture at scale
• Working knowledge of security and correctness tradeoffs in onchain systems
• Familiarity with Golang and experience in building DeFi or stablecoin infrastructure preferred
