Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will lead migration efforts, collaborate with government stakeholders, and enhance software quality through best practices and mentoring, focusing on building and improving systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design, review, and build well-crafted software in collaboration with fellow engineers
- Architect, implement, and deploy new systems while improving existing systems with government partners
- Create tools to automate development, testing, and production workflows, and participate in on-call support for production systems
Required qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in systemic improvements within complex service environments
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly Node.js
- Experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably with cloud platforms like AWS
- Understanding of web interface design best practices and Section 508 compliance
- Familiarity with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Jest, Jasmine, or Mocha
