Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Consumer Engineering - Rewards team, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design and develop scalable distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, SQL databases, and AWS, ensuring technical correctness and an outstanding user experience while telecommuting from anywhere within the U.S.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable distributed systems for the UHC Rewards core platform across web and mobile platforms
- Develop backend microservices and cloud-native architectures using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services
- Implement robust software testing patterns and frameworks to guarantee platform reliability, performance, and continuous integration
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree with 3+ years of software engineering experience, or Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years of software development experience using Java and Spring Boot
- 4+ years of experience working with SQL databases including transactions and query optimization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining applications in AWS
- 3+ years of experience with distributed systems architecture and microservices design
