Job Summary
Passionate about distributed systems, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design and implement core components of a Kafka-compatible cloud-native streaming platform, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain core components of the streaming platform including Kafka-compatible APIs and distributed services
- Solve complex engineering problems related to distributed systems, storage, and performance optimization
- Debug and resolve production issues in large-scale distributed environments while collaborating with customers to deliver effective solutions
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems, backend infrastructure, or cloud services
- Strong understanding of Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, or other distributed messaging systems
- Experience with distributed systems concepts, including replication, consistency, and fault tolerance
- Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or other systems programming languages
- Ability to independently own projects from design through implementation and production deployment
