Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Focusing on the design and delivery of reliable backend services, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will work remotely to build and integrate systems for automated code review and risk assessment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance software change processes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of Coinbase's Unified Merge Gate to determine and manage code changes
- Integrate automated review findings, policy assessments, and required human judgment into a cohesive merge decision process
- Build backend services and migrate repositories from legacy controls to the Unified Merge Gate with clear rollback paths
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in backend and distributed systems, particularly in Go or a comparable language
- Experience with CI/CD, source-control integrations, and developer infrastructure
- Strong understanding of API design, failure recovery, and observability
- Proven ability to lead cross-team technical projects from design through migration
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows
