Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading technical direction for the Essentials squad, the remote Senior Software Engineer will focus on Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and React, while designing back-end systems and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver impactful features.
Key responsibilities:
- Shape technical direction and architecture decisions while mentoring teammates in Ruby on Rails and related technologies
- Design and optimize back-end systems and APIs with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability
- Lead projects end-to-end, balancing hands-on development with guiding others and effectively communicating risks and trade-offs
Required qualifications:
- 7-10 years of full-stack development experience, with a core strength in Ruby on Rails
- 5+ years of experience with React and proven ability to lead projects from conception to delivery
- Hands-on fluency with AI development tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot
- Strong interest or experience in building with LLM APIs, including prompt design and safety considerations
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, estimate, and scope effectively
