Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Excited to tackle large-scale streaming and distributed messaging infrastructure challenges, the full-time remote Senior Software Engineer will refine and maintain messaging infrastructure while partnering with teams to build scalable technical solutions for Reddit's product growth.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the team's long-term technical strategy
- Refine and maintain messaging infrastructure to support asynchronous communication for hundreds of millions of users
- Own the infrastructure that supports produce and consume requests, along with necessary tooling and automation for efficient operation
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably focused on machine learning storage infrastructure
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java
- Experience with technologies like Kafka and Kubernetes; familiarity with Strimzi is a plus
- Hands-on experience with distributed messaging systems, including feature implementation and optimizations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
