Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Social Experience team, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design and build scalable backend services primarily using Ruby on Rails and Go, while owning complex technical delivery and collaborating across teams to enhance social features for users.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement performant backend systems to support high-throughput workloads and complex business logic
• Evolve existing Rails systems by identifying and extracting well-scoped capabilities while ensuring reliability and backward compatibility
• Lead complex technical initiatives from design through implementation, monitoring, and iteration, while managing dependencies and risks

Required qualifications

• 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Ruby on Rails applications
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience with API design and background job processing tools like Sidekiq
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge of Go and a solid understanding of observability practices
