Senior Software Engineer - AppSec

Job Summary

To enhance the security posture of products and operational environments, the full-time Senior Software Engineer - AppSec will work remotely, leveraging hands-on AppSec and DevSecOps expertise to integrate security tooling, develop security patterns, and mentor engineering teams on secure development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams on threat models and participate in design reviews to address application security and compliance concerns
• Serve as the AppSec expert, mentoring engineers on secure design patterns and enhancing security awareness across teams
• Lead the automation and integration of vulnerability management tooling across development and build pipelines

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a focus on building and securing production systems
• Proficient in understanding software vulnerabilities and their mitigation across stacks
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure security and container-based deployments
• Knowledge of secrets management practices and tooling, including automated scanning in CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with application security testing tools and the ability to validate the exploitability of vulnerabilities
