Senior Software Engineer - Backend
Job Summary
To support critical public-sector services, the remote Senior Software Engineer - Backend will contribute to application development, mentor junior engineers, and drive improvements in software engineering processes while working with minimal oversight.
Key responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ownership of application code and maintains high-level understanding of adjacent technical areas for effective system integration
- Diagnoses and resolves issues within owned systems, using incidents to inform educational opportunities and improvements
- Mentors junior engineers and communicates technical developments effectively with team members and stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience in developing systems and applications for Federal clients
- Experience with enterprise-level, high-availability application development and object-oriented design patterns
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Angular, and Node.js
- Strong database skills, preferably with Oracle or SQL Server, and experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Cloud Foundry, Azure, or AWS
