Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Network

Job Summary

Designing and operating systems that power Slack's global cloud networking stack, the full-time Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Network will work remotely to enhance load balancing, traffic management, and DDoS mitigation efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate systems for Slack's cloud networking, including load balancing and traffic management
• Develop automated systems for DDoS detection and response to enhance network security
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system observability and reliability while participating in on-call rotations

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on distributed systems and cloud-native applications
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP and strong knowledge of TCP/IP and DNS protocols
• Proven experience in building automation tools using programming languages such as Go, Ruby, or Python
• Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• A BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
