Senior Software Engineer Evaluator
Job Summary
Evaluating the quality of interactions with AI coding agents, the contract Senior Software Engineer Evaluator will assess AI-generated outputs and provide feedback on their engineering judgment and usefulness in a remote setting for approximately 10-20 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions for usefulness and correctness, focusing on engineering judgment
- Assess the quality of explanations and reasoning provided by AI, offering clear and opinionated feedback
- Define standards for effective interactions with AI tools, establishing what constitutes high-quality outputs
Required qualifications
- Staff or Principal-level engineer (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI Codex and Claude Code
- Deep familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows
- Comfortable providing direct and opinionated feedback on engineering quality
