Senior Software Engineer in Genomics
Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Software Engineer in Genomics will implement features and functions in new or existing genomics pipelines within an Agile SCRUM development team.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and enhance functionalities for genomics pipelines
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflows from DNA extraction to patient results reporting
- Utilize programming skills in BASH, Python, and Nextflow to support bioinformatics processes
Required qualifications
- Proficient understanding of BAM, Fastq, VCF, and other genetics file formats
- Experience with genomics testing and analysis workflows
- Skilled in BASH, Python, Nextflow, and GATK
- Familiarity with BioInformatics and Genomics Pipelines
- Knowledge of Claude/Codex AI is a plus
