Senior Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of platform engineers, the full-time Senior Software Engineering Manager will oversee the operational health and reliability of various data services, manage platform upgrades, and drive team development in a flexible or remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the operational health of platforms like Trino and Lightdash, establishing SLOs and managing upgrades
• Lead the migration to Nessie for improved data cataloging and oversee enhancements to the Coder platform
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of operational excellence and collaboration

Required qualifications

• 12+ years in software or platform engineering, with 5+ years in engineering management
• Proven experience managing open-source data infrastructure in production environments
• Hands-on expertise with distributed query engines, particularly Trino or Presto
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized service deployment
• Demonstrated ability to establish SLOs and incident-response practices for platform services
