Senior Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a software development team in a remote capacity, the full-time Senior Software Engineering Manager will oversee all phases of software development, manage team priorities, and ensure alignment with company goals while fostering team growth and performance excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all development phases including specification, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of production software systems
• Interact with software program managers and internal customers to define application requirements and necessary modifications
• Provide coaching and feedback to team members to drive performance and support their professional development

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science, Bioinformatics, or equivalent with 12+ years of related software engineering and leadership experience, or a Master's in computer science with 8+ years of experience
• Experience with complex software development in both Linux and Windows environments using modern methodologies
• Proficiency in a modern scripting language (e.g., Python, Groovy) and strongly typed object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, C#), along with relational databases
• Experience with production support, debugging, and maintaining legacy code, including technologies like Java Servlets, JSPs, HTML, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of object-oriented JS frameworks (e.g., AngularJS) and build tools (e.g., Ant, Gradle), as well as web UI frameworks and RESTful APIs
