Senior Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading a globally distributed team, the full-time Senior Software Engineering Manager will own NVIDIA's RL post-training frameworks strategy, focusing on building and enhancing open-source tools for reinforcement learning ecosystems while collaborating across multiple technical domains in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and define the strategy for RL post-training frameworks, prioritizing investments based on customer impact and technical feasibility
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, creating effective operating models and setting clear ownership and decision rights
• Drive engineering work across organizational boundaries, ensuring quality and measurable execution plans for RL framework improvements

Required qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems or AI frameworks, with 4+ years in an engineering management role
• Strong technical background in distributed AI systems and experience with architecture and performance tradeoffs
• Proven ability to define technical strategies and create multi-team execution plans
• Experience hiring and developing engineering teams, particularly in evolving technical domains
