Senior Software Optimization Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Software Optimization Engineer for a full-time remote position, this role will focus on enhancing the performance of Chromium-based browsers by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks across the stack, collaborating with various teams, and implementing optimizations across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Profile and optimize performance across Chromium subsystems, including Blink, V8, Skia, and GPU/ANGLE
• Identify CPU, memory, GPU, and power bottlenecks using real workloads and benchmarks
• Collaborate with browser vendors, OS teams, and hardware partners to co-optimize software and platforms

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with Chromium or Chromium-based browsers
• Strong proficiency in C++ and modern C++ performance best practices
• Deep understanding of browser internals, including rendering pipelines and JavaScript engines
• Proven experience using low-level profiling and tracing tools for optimizations
