Senior Software Test Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Software Test Engineer to work remotely, who will develop and execute test plans, conduct testing on software and IT systems, and document results while ensuring high-quality deliverables in a Veterans Affairs environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and procedures to meet organizational standards
• Lead testing efforts and collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure software quality and defect resolution
• Create daily test metrics and reporting, while identifying improvements to current testing procedures

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 10 or more years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or Python
• Proficiency in both manual and automated testing, including experience with testing frameworks and tools
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
