Job Summary
To support a growing team, the freelance Senior Somali Linguistic Tester will perform linguistic QA on software applications and AI models for the Somali market, ensuring cultural and stylistic accuracy while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Execute rigorous linguistic, stylistic, and functional testing on localized Somali software interfaces and AI-generated content
- Identify, log, and regress linguistic errors and visual layout glitches using standard issue-tracking workflows
- Ensure adherence to project glossaries, style guides, and brand-specific localization standards while validating cultural appropriateness
Required qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Linguistic QA, software localization testing, or professional translation (English into Somali)
- Native fluency in Somali with strong command of grammar and professional-level written English skills
- Active access to a Mac computer with an Apple Silicon M-series chip (M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer)
- Proven ability to differentiate between critical linguistic bugs and cosmetic layout defects
