Senior SOTIF Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the safety and reliability of autonomous trucking systems, the remote Senior SOTIF Engineer will lead safety assessments, risk analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with SOTIF acceptance criteria and safety frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead SOTIF evaluations and guide engineers to achieve SOTIF targets in autonomous vehicle development
• Collaborate with functional safety and system engineers to identify functional insufficiencies and provide risk assessments
• Develop verification and validation targets for safety scenarios and communicate SOTIF metrics to management and stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ISO-PAS 8800 (Safety and AI), and ISO 26262 (Functional Safety)
• Proven project management and leadership skills in cross-functional team environments
• Expertise in risk assessment and defining verification & validation strategies
• Experience in automotive, heavy-duty truck, or aerospace industries
