Senior SQL Server DBA
Job Summary
To ensure optimal application performance, the full-time Senior SQL Server DBA will take ownership of enterprise database environments, lead performance engineering initiatives, and mentor junior DBAs while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across complex, multi-server Windows environments
- Lead application performance engineering by analyzing execution plans and collaborating with development teams for optimizations
- Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO targets through regular drills
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in large-scale, mission-critical production environments
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 / 2025 on Windows Server 2019 / 2022
- Advanced T-SQL skills, including query optimization and performance troubleshooting
- Proven experience architecting and supporting Always On Availability Groups and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong command of performance diagnosis tools such as Wait Statistics and Extended Events
