Senior Staff Attorney
Job Summary
Seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Staff Attorney, the fully remote position will manage litigation efforts, supervise junior attorneys, and contribute to strategic decision-making to advance LGBTQ+ rights and social justice issues.
Key responsibilities
- Lead litigation teams in state and federal court, including case development, legal research, and drafting pleadings
- Supervise and mentor multiple staff attorneys while delegating tasks and overseeing policy work
- Contribute to impact litigation strategy and assist with legislative and policy matters aligned with organizational priorities
Required qualifications
- J.D. degree and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state
- Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience, including motion and trial practice
- Demonstrated commitment to LGBTQ+, HIV, or related social justice issues
- Knowledge of LGBTQ+ law and policy, including anti-discrimination and constitutional law
- Experience supervising and mentoring legal staff, with a focus on professional development
