Senior Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer to work remotely in a full-time capacity, responsible for designing and building complex data systems, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers within IAA's data engineering function.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build major data systems, pipelines, and frameworks, contributing to platform-wide architecture
• Deliver complex data engineering work on Azure data and analytics stack, including ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Mentor data engineers and analytics engineers, elevating the team's technical capabilities through design reviews and guidance

Required qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience as a senior or staff-level data engineer with a proven track record in production data systems
• Deep expertise in Azure BI/data technology stack, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with strong software engineering fundamentals
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems through robust technical design and execution
• Strong mentoring and influence skills to elevate engineering practices within the team
