Senior Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing data engineering team, the full-time remote Senior Staff Data Engineer will define technical vision, design data ecosystems, and drive engineering excellence while ensuring data quality and governance across distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define the long-term data engineering strategy and make high-impact technical choices
• Deliver major features and systems at scale, aligning efforts with business goals
• Mentor and develop engineering talent while influencing cross-functional roadmaps

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering with an advanced degree, or 12+ years with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Demonstrated mastery of data modeling, database design, and data warehouse technologies like Snowflake
• Strong skills in PySpark, SQL, and Python; experience with languages such as C#/C++, Go, Java, or Scala is a plus
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark and Airflow
• Proven track record of managing the entire data lifecycle and making organization-wide decisions in ambiguous environments
