Senior Staff Database Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on ensuring production stability, the full-time Senior Staff Database Engineer will manage complex incident root cause analysis, develop observability tooling, and mentor engineers while working in a flexible or remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in production database troubleshooting and performance analysis
• Own complex incident root cause analysis across multi-tenant PostgreSQL/MariaDB fleets
• Develop automation and observability tooling to prevent recurrence of critical issues

Required qualifications

• 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with 5 years of experience in database engineering
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including transaction management and query performance tuning
• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS, PaaS, or cloud infrastructure platforms
• Strong Unix/Linux skills and understanding of RedHat Linux internals
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
