Senior Staff GIS Engineer
Job Summary
As a full-time Senior Staff GIS Engineer, the successful candidate will serve as a senior technical leader for geospatial data and tooling capabilities, setting technical direction for sourcing, evaluating, and delivering geospatial data through AI/ML pipelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for sourcing and preparing geospatial datasets across various regions
- Lead the resolution of complex GIS engineering problems that involve multiple data modalities and systems
- Design and guide automated workflows for geospatial AI/ML pipeline outputs, ensuring performance and maintainability
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience with substantial experience in designing and delivering production geospatial data systems
- Deep knowledge of geospatial modalities, formats, and processing techniques, including experience with raster and vector data
- Strong software engineering and system design experience, particularly in scalable and automated data-processing systems
- Advanced Python experience for production automation and data processing
