Job Summary

Shaping the future of content understanding, the full-time Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer will set technical strategy for ML systems to enhance Pinterest's content ecosystem, focusing on multi-objective optimization and marketplace dynamics, while collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement ML strategies to improve content ecosystem health and performance metrics
• Identify content gaps and build models to understand missing content and its context
• Design multi-objective optimization approaches to balance relevance, quality, and monetization within the content marketplace

Required qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in machine learning and optimization applied to large-scale ecosystem problems
• Proven experience in leading technical strategy and delivering impactful solutions
• Deep interest in marketplace dynamics and comfort with multi-objective tradeoffs
• Experience with AI coding assistants and LLM-powered productivity tools
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
