Senior Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of high-performance, distributed, and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize core components of the Arrow-native query engine
• Drive architectural decisions across C++, Arrow, Substrait, and related open standards
• Collaborate with engineers to accelerate workloads across heterogeneous compute environments

Required Qualifications

• Proven track record as a senior IC in modern compilers, databases, or query engines
• Strong background in systems programming (C++, Rust, Go); GPU computing or LLVM knowledge is a bonus
• Experience with Arrow, Parquet, Substrait, Velox, or similar ecosystems
• Familiarity with vectorized query execution, columnar formats, or memory management optimization
• Ability to balance innovation with pragmatic engineering
