Senior Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the architecture and development of a Semantic Layer, the full-time Senior Staff Software Engineer will design and implement scalable data systems, ensuring performance and reliability while mentoring junior developers in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and lead the architecture of the Semantic Layer to power metrics and analytics across customer data
• Independently implement features and performance improvements for scalable distributed data systems in the cloud
• Conduct design and code reviews while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on designing and developing reusable libraries and services
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with extensive experience in relational databases and data warehouses
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Demonstrated ability to lead software and infrastructure design to meet project requirements
• Experience in code reviews, troubleshooting, and optimizing query performance over large data sets
