Job Summary

A company in the eCommerce industry is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to work on information retrieval systems that power Search, Ads and Recommendation for the company.

Position Responsibilities

Lead the design and architecture of scalable, performant, and reliable retrieval systems
Hands-on coding and development of critical components and features of retrieval systems
Collaborate with product engineering teams to integrate retrieval services into their workflows and run A/B experiments

Required Qualifications

Successful track record of building scalable and performant distributed systems
Experience with low-level programming languages like Rust, C, C++ etc
Ability to set the technical vision and direction and lead a team to implement
Background and hands-on experience with Cloud technologies (Google Cloud or AWS) is a plus
Ability to function as a Tech Lead but are happy to take the backseat and help other engineers grow as leaders and lead different tracks of work
