Senior State Product Manager

Job Summary

Driving state-based business strategy, the full-time Senior State Product Manager will manage complex market problems and cross-functional execution for Root's auto insurance markets while working remotely across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Drive domain strategy by identifying complex functional and market problems, evaluating strategic options, and making tradeoff decisions to support profitable growth
• Set and optimize market performance through proactive review of state performance and translating findings into pricing, underwriting, and product recommendations
• Lead cross-functional execution by planning roadmaps, keeping workstreams unblocked, and communicating status and risks to stakeholders and senior leaders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; professional designations related to insurance are a plus
• 7+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in product management, underwriting, or regulatory strategy within personal lines insurance
• Deep understanding of private passenger auto economics and state management levers
• Strong analytical judgment with experience in SQL-based data analysis
• Proven ability to lead through influence across multiple teams and communicate complex topics to senior leaders
