Job Summary

Leading a dynamic newsroom team, the full-time Senior Story Desk Editor will manage breaking news production and editorial direction during assigned dayparts, curating impactful stories across digital, social, and broadcast platforms.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead a team of story desk editors, overseeing breaking news and coordinating social media efforts
• Monitor and update developing stories across all platforms to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Create and publish content for digital platforms while optimizing coverage for peak audience engagement

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of journalism experience in a local newsroom or digital production role
• Prior experience in leading newsroom teams or effective collaboration with peers
• Strong news judgment and ability to make quick editorial decisions under pressure
• Excellent writing and editing skills for producing compelling content rapidly
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience
