Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Senior System Administrator will provide scientific computing support, overseeing infrastructure sustainment activities and managing system operations for the NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies program.
Key responsibilities
- Support account provisioning, access control management, operational maintenance, software deployment, and compliance documentation across the Scientific Computing environment
- Supervise daily activities related to the configuration and operation of various systems, including mainframe, mini, or client/server based
- Plan and monitor system operation optimization, resource utilization, and perform systems capacity analysis and planning
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance
- Minimum 6 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including HPC environments
- Experience with scientific instrumentation and knowledge of working in a scientific research organization
- Documented experience with FISMA and system authorization processes
