Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer will analyze monitoring-related indicators, provide actionable insights, and improve system reliability for the VA by collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing modern monitoring tools.

Key responsibilities

• Generate monitoring and observability recommendations through detailed analysis of system performance indicators
• Utilize enterprise-level triage and incident resolution skills to enhance the reliability of VA services
• Collaborate with system and application owners to diagnose outages and recommend improvements for stability

Required qualifications

• Deep expertise (3+ years) in troubleshooting tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or SolarWinds
• 8+ years of experience in IT system operability, reliability, and application performance
• 8+ years of experience in deploying and maintaining complex applications at an enterprise scale
• 1+ years of experience with AWS or Azure Cloud technologies and service virtualization
• HS diploma or GED with 20+ years of relevant experience, or a MA/MS degree in a technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience
