Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex cloud application systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while maintaining system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
• Document issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related fields, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
