Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Providing high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will develop solutions to technical problems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
• Communicate with users and senior management regarding system status and issues, while documenting problems in reporting tools
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain an inventory of system assets to ensure operational efficiency

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with system administration and automation tools
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to qualify for a Public Trust security clearance
