Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform operational support, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of complex cloud systems
• Detect, isolate, and resolve system outages while documenting issues and communicating with users and management
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with S3, CloudWatch, and automation tools
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
